Manchester Urban Institute plans launch events

18 November 2016

The newly established Manchester Urban Institute (MUI) is delighted to confirm two early evening launch events for 2017.

Professor Michael Keith from the University of Oxford will speak on 7 February 2017, followed by Lord Blunkett on 9 March 2017. Around these will be a programme of events over the course of the year, highlighting the range of work being done by staff in the Institute.

The MUI builds on the work of cities@manchester and unites the strengths of longer standing urban centres and groups. It brings together colleagues, researchers and graduate students from across the disciplines of anthropology, architecture, arts management, business studies, development studies, education, epidemiology, engineering, human geography, health sciences, history, Italian studies, Latin American studies, medicine, planning and environmental management, political science, social gerontology and sociology. The Institute will be the most intellectually diverse and the largest of its kind.

Further launch events are still in planning and more details will be available in due course.
