Blog posts from Bob Dickinson and Yatie Aziz published in June and July 2017
As part of the DevoCulture in the North Project, two blog posts were written by PGR policy correspondents. DevoCulture in the North Project aims to provide a critical space for civic, cultural and academic partners to discuss plans and ambitions for arts and culture in times of changing governance, funding and accountability. For 12 months, 6 post-graduate researchers at The University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University have acted as policy correspondents on issues impacting the devolution agenda that intersect with their doctoral research.
Bob Dickinson (MMU) wrote about the Manchester Arena bombing and the response from the cultural sector, specifically how artists address or respond to such tragedies. You can find Bob’s post here - http://www.nwcdtp.ac.uk/devoculture-blog-observation-manchester-bob-dickinson/.
Yatie Aziz (MMU) wrote about her experiences with Manchester International Festival’s new community strand of programming MyFestival. You can find Yatie’s post here - http://www.nwcdtp.ac.uk/data4devolution-festival-house-yatie-aziz/.
