Local approaches to improving the quality of work
4 December 2017
IGAU’s second annual conference focused on the question of what can be done at city-region and local level to tackle problems of low pay, insecurity and poor terms and conditions of employment.
We heard about why better work is crucial for productivity and social outcomes, how devolution creates an opportunity for coordinated action, and about existing projects and programmes that are making a difference.
Speakers included the RSA’s Matthew Taylor, Lesley Giles of the Work Foundation, and the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham.
