Research

Our research aims to produce more economically, environmentally and socially sustainable cities for current and future generations.

The Manchester Urban Institute's research is structured around three signature research themes:

  • Green and Resilient Urban Futures
  • Smart and Sustainable Cities
  • Spatial Inequalities and Poverty

Each theme is a collaborative effort by scholars from multiple research groups and from across the University.
